Luke Comins has a BA in Geography and an MSc in Landscape Ecology, Design and Management. He came to the Scottish Borders in 1996 where he started work in the fisheries field. From here, he became involved in the development of the £9 million Tweed Rivers Heritage Project and during this time oversaw the consolidation of Tweed Forum from an informal liaison group to a fully staffed company.

Dr. Sarah Currie
Catchment Management Planning Officer
Sarah Currie holds a PhD in Geography and Environmental Science specialising in decision support systems as a tool to facilitate environmental planning. Before joining the Tweed Forum in 2004, she worked as a lecturer at the University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg in the field of catchment management planning covering a number of catchments within the gold mining areas of South Africa.

Janet Landells
Finance Manager
Janet has a broad range of administration and finance management experience having worked previously in the public and private sectors, for both large organisations and small businesses. Janet works on a part-time basis as well as supporting financial administration for the Southern Uplands Partnership.

Heather Forbes
Heather Forbes holds an MSc in Fisheries Science and has recently completed a PhD in Fish Ecology. Before joining Tweed Forum in May 2007, she worked with some of the Fisheries Trusts, undertaking a variety of work from river habitat assessment to analysis of the passage of fish through hydro dams. Heather is currently involved with the implementation of the Tweed Catchment Management Plan and facilitation of River Basin Planning under the Water Framework Directive.

Alastair Laverty
River Till Restoration Project Officer
Alastair studied Geography at Queen's University Belfast, and on graduating worked for the Environmental Heritage Service. Over the next 4 years Alastair worked on landscape and conservation issues relating to the designation and management of AONB's within Northern Ireland. A move to Northumberland in 1992 brought the opportunity to combine his interest in rivers and wildlife, by working as a Conservation Officer for the Environment Agency's predecessor, the National Rivers Authority. Over the next 12 years, Alastair has developed a special interest in fluvial geomorpohology and wetland restoration/creation, securing the role as Biodiversity Technical Specialist in 2004. In 2006 he welcomed a secondment opportunity to return to a favoured part of Northumberland, to work with farmers to restore wetland habitats within the Till Catchment.
