Past Projects
Here you can find details of some of our past projects.

The Tweed Rivers Heritage Project
The Tweed Rivers Heritage Project was a pioneering partnership initiative managed through the Tweed Forum with the aim "to conserve, enhance and raise awareness of the natural, built and cultural heritage of the rivers and valleys of the Tweed catchment and develop the recreational opportunities and the quality of life in the region".  You can find out more about this project here.

Community Wildlife Officer
The Community Wildlife Officer Post supported volunteer staffing and community events for the Osprey Watch centres at Glentress Forest and Kailzie Gardens near Peebles, as well as the Philiphaugh Salmon Viewing Centre near Selkirk.  These Wildlife Centres have become important venues for visitors and Borderers alike and you can find out more about this project here.

Great Crested Newt Project
The objective of the Project was to create appropriately sited new wetland habitats for Great Crested Newts (GCN) to improve, connect and expand the existing Great Crested Newt meta-population(s) in the central Borders area.  You can find out more about this project here.

Tweed Water Vole Initiative

The Tweed Water Vole Initiative was set up to investigate the status of the endangered water vole in the Tweed catchment.  Several areas were surveyed for signs of this endangered mammal and the quality of potential water vole habitat was also assessed.  You can find out more about this project here.
